• Guys check this out not one but eight women in the streets promoting breast cancer awareness all in lycra spandex spiderman costume. Here it is. Let me know what you think. They’re probably the ones who wear glasses. Wearing a zentai you still need eyeglasses to see if you’re short- or far-sighted, and many people just put them on right under their hood. The girl in the white suit did seem to be wearing sunglasses, though. Maybe they help see through a white hood? Be interesting to test the idea.
While being able to see is certainly a big factor, I’ve tried goggles for another reason: Wearing a Deadpool costum for an extended period of time sometimes makes my eyes red. Keeping the fabric a bit away seems to help. I too can relate to the devastation caused by this disease. My sister-in-law who was a health fanatic, very health conscience, succumbed almost 7 seven years ago to a rare very fast acting form of breast cancer. And, yet we survey and persevere even though it hurts. Kudos to these women and organizers who came up with a novel way to get the message out. I’m putting this youtube in my favorites, so that my youtube friends can also discover it.

  • I just got my first black lycra suit in the mail. It was a week later arriving that I expected it to, but that’s not a big deal. The suit fits almost perfectly, I got one with toes, and they’re a little too small, but it isn’t too big of a deal, they’re really tight, and too short, but not uncomfortably so. Unfortunately, I only got to wear it for about three minutes, before I heard my little sister,(who is staying here with me for a little while) come home. It felt pretty good though, and pretty effective for what I need.
I’ll wear it more tomorrow, probably all day. And I’ll update this post and let you all know how it goes. Please do…let us know how you find the overall effect. If certain parts of the zentai suits store are too small and tight how is the rest of the suit? Does it offer the tight constrictive feeling you were after?
I went with the Lycra. I couldn’t find anywhere trustworthy that offered a green zentai suit in Microfiber. Of course, I ended up doing more stitching tonight; This time on the right foot, next to the little toe. And at the end of the big toe. So, I guess where I got mine isn’t exactly top shelf anyway. I guess that’s the universe reminding me why I usually don’t buy Chinese goods. Oh well. I had a similar experience (i.e. limited time) the first time I tried on my suit which was just two days ago. I couldn’t find a pair of scissors so I had to use a screwdriver hoping I wouldn’t puncture the suit. I put it on, walked around the house, even walked outside for a few seconds, and took a quick pic. Even though it was a short period of time it was so wonderful.

  • When we tell people what they are, they are only relying on what her and I and others that go out, what we tell them. So they basically have to remember what we tell them and hopefully they can get on the net and research what we told them. I’m thinking about making up some calling cards with my name on them and this site as a link so anyone who asks us about what we are wearing we can hand them the card and then they can check out the link and see what Avatar Neytiri Costume is really all about without thinking it is only a fetish thing.
that way it will give them a chance to get most of their answers about why we wear them, what they are for and all of the great things that go with zentai and what you can do with it. Seeing as how this forum is greatly broken into parts for shops and conversation and meets and intro’s, we think it would be a great way to share what spiderman lycra is. The cards aren’t a bad idea. I definitely think introducing people to this forum might be the best way to introduce people to zentai, as this is probably the best online community for us. That way they could get a good idea of what it is and what kind of people are into it without bombarding them with the more sexual side of zentai. Either way, I say go forth and spread the zentai gospel!
Only thing I’m curious about is how to carry the cards.I noticed when going out in my leopard suit I didn’t have a way to carry phone, keys etc.Making me rely on my buddies truck for storage, transport etc. I wonder how we could incorporate pockets into zentai. i have a blue spandex suit with two pockets on the sides like hand warmer pockets.would be neat to have. But would also ruin the smooth lines of the suit. well when i go out, i wear shoes so i don’t mess up the feet on my suit, so i would probably just put them in my shoe inside of my little flexible business card holder…
oh, and a little tip (found this out on halloween) the gf didn’t wanna take her purse into the bars so i said i would hold onto the car key (only key we needed lol) and i put it in my suit…that was fun trying to get that out later lol.

  • Was looking through my enormous collection of decorated and coloured superhero costumes Cycling leggings today to find some nice ones of thin material to wear on my bike in this fantastic hot weather. I settled on a pair of striped purple/blue ones in the end, but not untilo after trying on one of the white pairs I have, which is patterned with screenprinted images in black. I have a few pairs like this, which are of thin white or grey zentai suits, some of them plain, and some of which are screenprinted with stylish artwork, but almost all of them, without exception have gradually begun to suffer the following problem over the few years since I have got each of them: The lycra material loses its ‘rebound’, and when I put them on, they still fit reasonably tight, but not as skin-tight as if they still had the lycra stretch in them; also some powdery white stuff comes out of the material when I take them on and off.
The logical reason for this is that the Lycra component of the nylon/lycra mix fabric is disintegrating, and the white zentai suit is the ‘perished’ strands of lycra falling out of the fabric; eventually some of the older leggings I have like this have lost their lycra component altogether in this way. I would be interested to know if many others have suffered this problem, especially with older lycra (I have been collecting lycra leggings since 1984!), and if there is any way to arrest this deterioration. My impression is that the actual lycra material is very like rubber, and I know that rubber (e. g. rubberwear, condoms) perish due to atmospheric onditions, and pollution such as traffic fumes, solvents in dodorants, baby oil, etc. Is the same true of Lycra, and should we keep it clear of certain products, and wrap it in airtight bags like rubber, to preserve its stretch? Is there perhaps any spray on treatment (e. g. like certain hair perm products which might help protect the lycra? I’ll be trying to conduct some experiments in this way, but I would be very interested if anyone else has any advice or observations about conserving Lycra, as many of my ‘perishing’ leggings are of unique patterned decoration, and are irreplaceable!

  • My favorite superhero costume shorts are made by Caratti, nice shiny and black. But one of my pairs has gone ‘see through’ in the crotch area, and before anyone asks NO, I do not wear them anymore. Very disappointing, also discovered one of my first pair of Adidas shorts has perished elastic around the leg gripper, it dates from the mid 1990s so are 9 year old, but are now no longer wearable. Must buy more shorts just in case

Another product that might be worth trying is Aquaseal wetsuit shampoo, which is also designed with purple zentai suit in mind. I’ve used it for over a year to handwash my swimsuit after getting back from the pool, because it claims to remove chlorine. And it does! Lycra swimwear usually lasts me three or four months heavy use, but my current jammers have lasted since I started using the shampoo. I’m only going to retire them now cos I’m bored of them! (Plus I’ve just got some fastskin ones) Anyway, even if you don’t use your stuff for swimming, it might be a good product to try. One £5 bottle has lasted me all this time (I use a lot less than it recommends) and I haven’t noticed any deterioration in the elastane at all.

It’s also advisable to wash your green zentai suit on the “gentle” cycle in cold water. I also find that hanging my gear to dry is much better than using the electric dryer or hanging them in the sun to dry. I usually just place them on a plastic hanger and throw them over a door. I most recently washed my metallic red suit in completely COLD water, with soft hand soap, and STILL a fair amount of red dye came out, and some patches of metallic finish were lost, around areas such as the feet and hands where it wears off while wearing! Would drycleaning, or some very specialist soap/detergent work better? -I’ll try and get some Aquaseal wetsuit shampoo at some stage as well.
